Task at Hand

Topgolf, a quickly growing company, decided to open an Albuquerque location and needed a contractor for the roof. While many companies sought the job, Goodrich Roofing’s outstanding work stood out and we were given the contract. This project had to be completed in a timely manner so as not to delay the opening of the establishment. Goodrich worked with the general contractor to discover the exact needs for the massive space. With many Topgolf fans anxiously awaiting the opening of the Albuquerque location, we faced the challenge head on and delivered an excellent solution.

Our Solution

This huge project required efficiency and precision from the company taking it on making Goodrich the perfect choice. Our team prioritized safety and came up with a solid plan to complete the roofing system. We mechanically installed the TPO membrane up to industry standards then attached custom metal coping to cover the parapet walls. This solution ensured that the entire system was properly sealed leaving nowhere for moisture to penetrate. Our roof remains strong and unproblematic today, almost five years after its completion.

This old foam roof was in desperate need of a refresh after years of wear and tear. The team at Goodrich Roofing gave the roof new life with a fresh, energy efficient TPO re-roof that will last for years to come.

The Problem

This Albuquerque roof originally featured an outdated SPF (foam) roofing system, a roofing material that was popular in the past but is now known for being outdated and problematic. Issues often occur with SPF roofing like pooling on uneven surfaces and overall vulnerability to weather as well as high risk of punctures which can easily lead to leaks.

Our Solution

For flat roofs, Goodrich Roofing exclusively installs TPO, an energy efficient, very effective single ply membrane on top of foam insulation. This project called for a complete tear-off of the existing roofing system, installation of the foam insulation, mechanical attachment of the TPO membrane, and finally sealing of the TPO membrane to ensure water resistance. Our install included adding TPO scuppers to ensure proper drainage and sealing roof penetrations to ensure water resistance. Our team quickly and effectively completed the project, immediately passing inspection and leaving our customers with a durable modern roof built to last.

Materials

The membrane used for this TPO re-roof is MuleHide TPO in white on top of standard 1/2″ fan-fold insulation, mechanically installed to manufacturer standards.

This shingled East Mountain home required a full roof replacement after inspection revealed serious hail damage to the existing roof. Our team smoothly installed a new shingle roofing system to give this roof a fresh look that will protect against the elements.

The Problem

This home’s original roof was a dated shingle system. Although there were no serious leaks, our inspector noticed serious storm damage to the shingles. Something needed to be done to prevent further issues. When the granules protecting the shingle are damaged, the asphalt is exposed and therefore vulnerable to penetration. When this occurs in a small area, it’s possible to get away with only repairing the affected shingles, but in this case the whole roof was compromised and a re-roof was the optimal solution.

Our Solution

Our team excels at quick and easy shingle roofing. We began with the removal of the existing roofing system, followed by the cleaning and inspection of the deck. After ensuring the deck remained structurally sound, we placed and secured synthetic underlayment which goes under the shingles and offers the majority of water resistance for the roofing system. We then installed drip edge and shingles, finishing off with the ridge cap and sealing off the penetrations. The finished product: a beautiful new roofing system built to last.

Materials

The shingles used for this job are Owens Corning Duration in the popular color Williamsburg Gray. The synthetic underlayment, Owens Corning’s RhinoRoof U20 for the perfect waterproof barrier to keep this home safe and dry.

The previous skylights were placed atop long rectangles cut into the roof. After removing the existing skylights, our team worked to frame out space for the new ones and seal up the remaining open part of the roof. We seamlessly tied in the new skylight frames to the existing roofing system, creating an extremely effective seal against moisture. Finally, we placed and fastened the stunning new skylights, creating a bold new look and maximizing natural light entering the space to complete this skylight replacement.
