With metal roof replacement projects, we often see a shingle roof being upgraded to metal. This job was different in that the existing roof was metal. This customer came to us looking for an update. The existing metal roof was showing signs of hail damage along with general wear and tear and clearly needed an update. Our team worked closely with the customer’s insurance to get this new metal roof covered because of the hail damage. The stunning new metal roof adds a fresh look along with decades of protection to this east mountain home.
Task at Hand
Throughout the year, we’ve been replacing Cedar Crest and Edgewood roofs with serious hail damage. Large hailstones from an early summer storm did significant damage across the area. Many of these roofs had enough damage to warrant full coverage on re-roofs by insurance companies. Our friendly and attentive sales team was sure to make residents aware, helping them get new roofs while only paying a small fraction of the price out of pocket. This entire roof showed serious signs of hail damage requiring a new metal roof to entirely fix the damage.
Our solution
Upon determining a full re-roof was the best course of action, we decided on a color and panel type with our customer to suit their preferences. This roof had some sensitive areas that would need extra attention, namely a valley where three different slopes met. These areas require extra attention because of the higher volume of water that passes over them in a storm. Additionally, this area has a lower slope than the rest of the roof.
After efficiently tearing off and disposing of the existing roof, our team found that two pieces of the deck required replacement. We worked with insurance to cover that unforeseen cost and began installing the roof underlayment. On the sensitive valley area we installed cap sheet to maximize protection and ensure leaks would not be an issue down the road. We finished the roof by installing the 26 gauge desert rib metal panels and a unique architectural ridge. Finally, our team installed brand new seamless metal gutters to complete the job and ensure protection from the elements for this home.
